This Privacy Policy explains how the States United Action (“States United Action,” “we” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you access or use our websites and other online services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, “Site”). We are providing this Site as a service and your use of this service is subject to this Privacy Policy.

Who We Are

States United Action is a nonpartisan section 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization with a mission to protect our elections and our democracy. Collection of Information 

Information You Provide To Us

We collect information you provide directly to us.  For example, we collect information when you sign up to receive updates, request information, fill out a form, sign a petition, sign up as a volunteer, sign up for an event, create an account, participate in a contest or promotion, make a donation or purchase, communicate with us via third party social media sites or the Site, request support, send us an email, or otherwise communicate with us. The types of information we may collect includes your name, contact information (such as email address, postal address, and phone number), credit card and other payment information (which may be collected directly by a third-party processor), media you provide, and any other information you choose to provide. 

Automatically Collected Information 

When you access or use our Site, we may automatically collect information about you, including:

  • Log and Usage Information:  We collect information related to your access to and use of the Site, including the type of browser you use, browser user agent string, app version, access times, pages viewed, your IP address, and the page you visited before navigating to our Site.

  • Facilitate contests, sweepstakes, and promotions and process and deliver entries and rewards;

SOCIAL SHARING FEATURES

The Site may offer social sharing features and other integrated tools (such as the Facebook “Like” button, which let you share actions you take on our Site with other media, and vice versa). If you have an account on the Site, or have left comments, you may request to receive an exported file of the data we hold about you by emailing us at info@statesunitedaction.org. For users that register on our website (if available), you may see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except that you cannot change your username). However, note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.  We may also retain cached or archived copies of information about you for a certain period of time.
